Did you know that 1 in 3 UK children leave primary school either overweight or living with obesity?
This is largely due to the widespread perception among children that vegetables are ‘boring’ or ‘disgusting’, further fuelled by the fact that only 1.2% of food and drink advertising is spent on promoting healthy diets with plenty of vegetables.
The effects of unhealthy eating are not restricted to weight, either. For instance, recent research has discovered that between 31% and 41% of 5-year-old British children show evidence of tooth decay – a statistic that is even higher among deprived populations.
TASTE – The Tots And Small Teens (healthier options) Expo has been inspired by Innoveat’s founder, Heerum Fleary. A mum of four boys, Heerum is constantly struggling to find healthier food and drink options especially when out and about on day trips. Heerum is passionate about providing opportunities for likeminded buyers operating in similar spaces to come together and find new innovative healthier options.
